Exterior Drinking Fountains on the Alphen Trail

Drinking Waters Africa have done a lot of work in documenting installations of exterior drinking fountains across Cape Town.

Often provided by charity groups and benefactors, there are numerous examples of exterior drinking fountains in public areas in certain areas of the Western Cape.

This drinking fountain was found on the Alphen Trail in Constantia, Cape Town. Donated by the Varsity Old Boys Running Club, the fountain has a plastic bubbler and has been built in stone with a rugged finish. The soak away is into the ground around the drinking fountain, and could maybe have been done a little more professionally with an enclosed gravel area which would stop the ground around the fountain becoming muddy.

A nice example of what can be done in public spaces to allow people to hydrate on the go.

We offer customers a range of outdoor drinking fountains as well as a custom fountain design service for customers looking for something a little different.

One Response to Exterior Drinking Fountains on the Alphen Trail

We are wanting to fit two outdoor drinking fountains at our school as freestanding units suitable for children. Do you have more examples with prices. We have a stone sculptor on staff who might be able to shape the basin and the would then need the plumbing.
